La Fondation AGAT annonce une contribution de contrepartie pouvant atteindre $350 000 dans le cadre de la campagne Keep It In Alberta du Centre du cancer de la prostate.

CALGARY, Sept. 22, 2024 — In partnership with the Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC), the AGAT Foundation is contributing up to $350,000 in matching donations as part of the PCC’s Keep It In Alberta campaign this November.

From Nov. 1 until Nov. 30, all funds raised will be matched by the AGAT Foundation up to $350,000.

“If we raise $350,000, that turns into $700,000,” says Marissa Reckmann, CEO, AGAT Laboratories and Director, AGAT Foundation. “All of those funds are going to be used to build a state-of-the-art, brand-new MAN VAN®, the second of its kind that the AGAT Foundation has donated to the PCC.”

The MAN VAN is a prostate cancer mobile screening clinic which services Albertans, particularly those in remote and rural communities.

“November is an incredibly important month for men’s health,” says Jeff Davison, CEO, Prostate Cancer Centre. “It’s when we have all the focus on us. That’s why this November, we’re running the Keep It In Alberta campaign, which means every dollar raised here stays here.”

The Keep It In Alberta campaign aims to raise funds for important prostate cancer awareness and care facilities and infrastructure to reach more Albertans.

“This is a one of a kind program,” says Davison. “No one is going out there doing this proactive work, and it’s thanks to the AGAT Foundation that we’re able to get across Alberta to do it.”

Previously, the AGAT Foundation contributed towards the biggest MAN VAN ever built in 2024. The goal is to build another unit of similar specifications to service communities all over Alberta.

“At the AGAT Foundation, we truly believe that through science we can build a better tomorrow,” says Reckmann. “We can overcome challenges that are based in our communities, and we can build a brighter and more hopeful future.”

One in six Alberta men is diagnosed with prostate cancer.
