COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
Over the past decade we are so proud to be able to support these amazing organizations and help with outreach programs across Canada. It is very fulfilling and rewarding to pay forward AGAT’s success to help make our communities better for all of us.

CAlgary Fire Department
A current research project that we have underway is in collaboration with the Calgary Fire Department where we provide bracelets to the firefighters and then analyze the bracelets in our laboratories. With increased risks of cancer among Canadian firefighters, the fire department wants to identify what types of toxic compounds they are exposed to in their line of work, including under their personal protective equipment. AGAT Laboratories is using a new testing media that the firefighters wear and we analyze in our Montreal Ultra-trace and forensics laboratory to identify present compounds. This study is in the process of moving onto larger test groups and is hoped to collaborate with other fire departments across Canada.

Sunnybrook & the university of toronto
In Ontario, we are working with the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and University of Toronto to create a research chair at the University dedicated to Vascular disease research with a focus of preventing limb loss due to diabetes. Dr. Papia has a mobile clinic that he brings out to charity golf tournaments and other events where he can use a Doppler ultrasound to examine the blood flow in major arteries and veins to quickly identify if there are any blockages. This simple and quick test can save limbs and lives.
