AGAT Foundation’s 2025 Drive for Hope Campaign Raises $1.9 Million for Alberta Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer Centre

CALGARY, Nov. 12, 2025 — A year of fundraising in partnership with the AGAT Foundation, has raised a total $1.9 million to support important healthcare community programs led by Alberta Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer Centre.

In a record-breaking year — a reoccurring theme since the AGAT Foundation’s inception in 2020 — fundraising for the Drive for Hope included matching campaigns and the AGAT Foundation Priddis Greens Charity Classic golf tournament held on Aug. 21, 2025, in Calgary, Alta. at the Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club.

“To all of you who have donated, sponsored, volunteered, teed off, we all want to thank you,” says Marissa Reckmann, CEO, AGAT Laboratories and Director, AGAT Foundation. “It means so much to us that you come together to help support meaningful, impactful work across our province, helping Albertans one day at a time.”

Funds raised will support the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Patient Financial Assistance Program, a 100 per cent donor-funded program intended to relieve financial pressures for patients who are fighting cancer. The program is designed to provide financial access to pay for necessities such as groceries, utilities, and transportation.

“They [patients] are able to focus on themselves and what they need and still also take care of their family,” said Megan Thomson, Director of Philanthropy, Alberta Cancer Foundation.

As part of an ongoing partnership, the AGAT Foundation was also the matching donor for the Prostate Cancer Centre’s Keep It In Alberta campaign. Funding helped purchase a new MAN VAN® — the third of its kind funded with support from the AGAT Foundation — to provide Albertan men in rural and remote communities with access to prostate cancer screening.

“Throughout the year we’ve actually reached over 100,000 men,” said Shannon McCarthy, Office Manager, Prostate Cancer Centre. “We were able to get into 30 indigenous communities in Alberta which is just game changing for men’s health in Alberta.”

“Since the beginning of the partnership — all of the initiatives that AGAT employees, clients, sponsors, donors… have participated in — it’s truly astounding to see how it’s grown,” said Thomson.
