The tournament encourages both male and female participants, competitive and non-competitive golfers alike. Teams compete for the Bill Beattie Memorial Award using net Stableford points with the best three scores of each foursome counted per hole.

This event has evolved over the years from a simple and generous plan by Mr. Bill Beattie and his friends to support the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary into a prestigious signature tournament for Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club. In the 20 plus years prior, this charity golf tournament has donated nearly $7 million and continues to be a leading source of funding to support prostate health for all in Calgary.
